Chiming in with some punstoppable potential new hires
There are many threads on how to convince folks to join startups. This is not that thread. My strategy to convince Chimers? Email an offer with their name as a subject line pun. 95% of the time, they accepted every time and they were the BEST hires.
If you ever see these folks on the market, hire them immediately without question. They are the best people you’ll find for the job
Camilo
"CAM, I LO-ve that you're so excited to join Chime!"
My first hire (& very tough pun). I always say that an HoF's highest early leverage hire is an Accounting Manager & he proved it - aced our first audit, rev rec, NetSuite launch, fundraising DD. Insane output.
Cameron
"I CAM't wait for you to join Chime!"
Cameron was my first StratFin hire he's a star. He jumped into optimizing our unit economics framework, & he led some of our biggest ROI-based product launches - DD switching, P2P. He also drove a lot of our fundraising DD.
Calvin
"You'll be CALVIN a great time if you join Chime!"
Calvin was one of my peers and I'm so glad he joined our team. He brought deep M&A and corp dev experience to evaluating the landscape, gauging transformational M&A opps and leveling up our competitive intelligence
Mark
"MARK my words, you're going to do big things at Chime"
Mark was our second StratFin hire and immediately dove into making the unit economics work for SpotMe. He became our lead StratFin partner for Credit Builder and drove a ton of the work for debt financing.
Bre
"I can't BRE-lieve you're going to join Chime!"
Bre was our second hire on the Accounting team, much needed as our mandate expanded. She wrangled month-end close down to a science and wrote some of our first accounting memos while running day-to-day audit prep.
Jonathan
"If you join our team, you'll be JON-stoppable"
Jon joined our team to strengthen accounting as month end close became more complicated and audit was upon us. Jon tirelessly worked to clean reconciliations and reduce close by knocking out cash on day 0"
Andre
"You have to ANDRE-stand that this is an amazing opportunity to join Chime"
Andre joined after a long process & I'm so glad he did. He brought model mastery to strategic negotiations for free ATMs & bank deals. He also led our liquidity product ROI for loans & SpotMe
Kyle
"Theres a KYLEidoscope of opportunity for you when you join Chime"
Kyle was our first dedicated FP&A manager & wrangled our financial data into usable databases for our operating model. He was our Finance infrastructure architect & systematized financial planning.
Yayan
"Should you join Chime and make a huge impact? Heck YA(YAN)!"
Yayan joined us from Airbnb & brought rigor to our processes & models. She could navigate complex stakeholder dynamics like no other. She led our SpotMe Boosts ROI & optimized our Marketing CAC framework.
Carly
"I C A RLY good opportunity for you to join Chime"
Carly was one of our most capable and hardworking hires, and it totally made sense given her education (Go Duke!). She ran every variant of ATM unit economics, jumped on Instant Transfer ROI & drove loan modeling.
Ryan
"If you're tRYAN to make a big impact, you should join Chime"
Ryan brought instant firepower to our SpotMe Boosts work and helped figure out how to increase the size of SpotMe & enable ATM access while optimizing for risk thresholds, all using our ROI framework.
Wes
"It's our qWESt to get you to join Chime and level up our team."
I hired Wes to bring senior expertise & experience from his broad background. He took over P2P's launch & cross functional partnerships using ROI frameworks & helped us reinvent CAC metrics.
Sameed
"If you aren't looking for the SAME, EDucate yourself on the amazing potential for Chime."
Sameed had deep fintech experience so he was a great fit for partnering with R&D on our infrastructure. He also used deep negotiated experience to optimize our PIN networks.
